Barossa Cheese and Wine Trail

Do you love cheese as much as we do? Great!

Cheese is so good, and is a great match for a relaxed afternoon of wine tasting. So when the Barossa Valley Cheese Company asked if we’d like to be part of their Barossa Cheese and Wine Trail we said, “Heck, yes!”

You can now enjoy four fabulous cheeses at four fabulous wineries. An added bonus is that it’s your afternoon planned – no need to make decisions, you just follow the map and have a great time.

The Barossa Cheese and Wine Trail starts in Angaston at the Barossa Valley Cheese Company – stop in and grab your hamper bag. The bag contains four artisan cheeses, a wine barrel cheese board, cheese knife, crackers and most importantly, the trail map.

You’re then ready to hit the trail, visiting four wineries that are all within short driving distance from each other (or about 7km bike riding if you’re keen). You’ll visit The Willows Vineyard, Gibson Wines, Elderton Wines and Kaesler Wines. At each winery you will sit and experience a paired cheese and wine tasting. Each pairing has been considered by the cheesemaker, Victoria McClurg, so you can be sure the cheese and wine match will be delicious.

To make sure we knew what we were talking about when you come to visit, Fiona (our fab Cellar Door host) headed out to experience the Barossa Cheese and Wine Trail. Here are her photos:
