When we released the 2023 Command Shiraz and 2024 Ashmead Cabernet Sauvignon to the public on 1 September, we knew quantities would be limited. What we didn’t anticipate was just how quickly collectors and long-time Elderton supporters would respond.
Today, there is only a small allocation of the 2024 Ashmead Cabernet Sauvignon remaining, with approximately 30 six-packs still available before this release is sold out.
These wines represent the pinnacle of Elderton’s Elite Single Vineyard collection, sourced from two of our most treasured vineyards and shaped by a growing season that delivered exceptional purity, structure and balance.
2023 Command Shiraz
Sourced from our Ancestor Vineyard planted in 1894, the 2023 Command is a striking expression of a cooler vintage. While Command is renowned for power and longevity, the 2023 release pairs its trademark depth with remarkable elegance and precision.
Layers of vibrant red fruit, plum and sweet spice are framed by what critics have described as beautifully balanced structure and exceptional length. Matured for 23 months in new French and American oak puncheons, it is equally compelling to enjoy now or cellar for the next two decades.

2024 Ashmead Cabernet Sauvignon
Produced from our historic Nuriootpa vineyard planted in 1944, the 2024 Ashmead Cabernet Sauvignon is one of the smallest releases in the wine’s history.
The vineyard yielded just a handful of barrels, resulting in an allocation reduced by more than three-quarters of a typical vintage. The wine captures everything we love about old vine Barossa Cabernet: vibrant boysenberry fruit, spiced vanilla, savoury dried herbs and long, fine tannins that promise graceful ageing.
Now in its 24th release, Ashmead continues to demonstrate why this vineyard has become one of the most celebrated Cabernet Sauvignon sites in the Barossa.
