2022 Golden Semillon

The 2022 Golden Semillon is the ninth release from Semillon grown on our Greenock vineyard, and is produced using a cordon pruning technique to attain concentrated flavours. It is the ideal accompaniment to most desserts, but also pairs well with blue cheese.

Our Golden Semillon comes from 1985 and 1999 plantings of Semillon. We cane cut portions of the
two blocks at full flavour ripeness to enhance sugar concentration, whilst holding onto some natural acid in the resultant bunches. The fruit was then left to hang on the vine, concentrating flavours in the mild autumn weather. The fruit was hand harvested in mid-April and pressed slowly to ensure full extraction of flavour from the skins. Fermentation was stopped at a point where
alcohol, sweetness and acid were all in balance. Filtration and immediate bottling has ensured the fresh fruit flavours are captured in this wine. - Jules Ashmead and Brock Harrison
