2023 Small Victories Shiraz
Production notes
Description
The purity of fruit, so typical of Eden Valley, really shows through, heightened by a small whole bunch component with oak playing a secondary role. It’s so tasty I just poured myself a glass!

Trophy, Best South Australian Shiraz, Melbourne Royal Wine Awards 2024
Blue fruits spice toasty oak rounded berry fruit. Super fine tannin blue fruit silk and spice long fine. Pretty white pepper, floral, bunchy, green bean, fine grained tannin, more pepper on the palate, flavour intensity. Blood plums, spicy, smokey, aromatic is lovely. Finer ones, delicious weight of fruit around structure, just chalky acid. 96 points

Nicely composed with 13% whole bunch this year, it's all juicy blueberry and plummy fruits, studded with spice and floral facet with gentle twiggy nuance sidling through with a nod of its head. Just such an easy drink; nothing poking out, everything in its right place ... Such great value.

Pretty happy with this wine. It delivers good flavour, and good intensity, without pushing things too far. Blackberry, blueberry, lavender and saltbush characters get the job done nicely. There’s a minor meatiness in play too; another positive. In summary it feels fresh, flavoursome and well made.
