A festive menu of food and wine matches

Christmas, and the whole festive season, is one of my favourite times of year. Over the weekend, we found the perfect Christmas tree and the kids and I decorated. Precious family heirlooms were hung with care. Little hands were excited to place handmade beauties on the tree; such pride and joy on little faces as their decorations are put on display.

While we are still a little unsure of what format Christmas celebrations can take this year, our family are planning for a family celebration with fingers and toes crossed. We are still hoping we will be able to eat, drink and be merry with friends and family. Here at Elderton we celebrate our year with a staff Christmas party, where we all get to be in one place at the same time – vineyard, warehouse, winery, cellar door – we all come together for a great lunch.

we would do oysters natural with a squeeze of lime juice, but do them however you like your oysters!

roast pork belly in crusty baguette with pickled carrot, cucumber, coriander and chilli to taste

the tzatziki – yoghurt, cucumber, mint with touch of garlic and lemon

Roast beetroot, pumpkin and quinoa salad
with rocket, pine nuts, feta and a balsamic/Dijon dressing
