A little more Barossa … food and wine festival is bringing you a series of events through August – from long lunches to degustation dinners, picnics to masterclasses and workshops and more.
For all the details visit https://www.barossa.com/events/alittlemorebarossa, but here we share a snapshot of some of the events:
Let’s start right here at Elderton!
Warm up fireside and give in to temptation as you indulge in guilty pleasures at Elderton Wines with the best kind of comfort food… decadent, locally inspired toasties served side by side with matched wines!
From noon to 2pm each day in August, the Barossa Comfort Tasting combines four premium Elderton wines with four locally inspired toasties that are guaranteed to leave you feeling warm and satisfied. Think Apex Bakery bread toasted to perfection with fillings like smoky bacon, lackhsinken, sauerkraut cheese, caramelised onion and shiraz paste! Delicious!
The Picnic Tribe brings you the luxury of unique picnic experiences, so that you can relax and enjoy life’s simplest pleasure: time. They create delicious and inspired platters using only the freshest ingredients sourced from other local businesses, with a strong emphasis on taste and exemplary style. They cater to your every need, making your life easier and more delicious all at once!
Limited bookings are available for Picnics in the Barossa – Winter Experience (outside the Barossa Visitor Centre – 66-68 Murray St, Tanunda), where you will be treated to our classic and much loved Picnic Tribe packages in the comfort of our exclusive tailor made teepees.
Let your kids get creative at the Barossa Farmers Market by decorating honey biscuits with Those Barossa Girls. Each child will take home a box of their very own decorated biscuits and a BFM linen bag. Two sessions – 9am and 10am on Saturday, 28 August.
Warm-up every Tuesday in the month of August and enjoy a cup of soup for good in this heart-warming initiative inspired by chefs of the Barossa. Purchase a cup of soup every Tuesday from the ‘Give A Little More Barossa Community Soup Kitchen’ at the Barossa Co-op and you will be helping Foundation Barossa’s ‘Homburg Homeless Prevention Fund’ with proceeds from sales supporting a longer-term sustainable solution for youth homelessness.
Taste delicious soup creations from some of the regions most talented chefs: • August 3- Sam Smith & Amy Dunleavy, Fino Seppeltsfield • August 10- Tim Bourke, The Eatery • August 17- Mark McNamara & Ruby Stobart, kindhearted kitchen • August 24- Clare Falzon, Hentley Farm • August 31- Kyle Johns, Appellation
