by the Cellar Door Team
This winter we invite you to enjoy a very special limited edition of our Shiraz Masterclass.
The Barossa is world renowned for Shiraz for a very good reason. In this insightful Masterclass, we explore the diversity of Shiraz and the distinctive characteristics of five wines, all estate grown.
This special edition Masterclass features
Cellar Door only release 2021 Ashmead Family Reserve Shiraz
Elderton has a long standing and proud history of making world class Shiraz. It brings our family much pleasure to release this celebratory wine from our 40th vintage. It is a ripping expression of the power of fruit our beautiful Ancestor vines produce here in Nuriootpa. From a dream vintage, this parcel of fruit was just simply too good not to feature in its own wine.
2019 Command Shiraz
The Command is truly an expression of place, and one of which the family intends to preserve for generations to come. The fruit is sourced from a single block planted in 1894, and this wine recently received 98 points in The Vintage Journal Barossa Guide 2023 by Andrew Caillard MW and Angus Hughson.
Helbig 1915 Shiraz
A single vineyard selection of truly remarkable Shiraz that was planted by the Helbig family in 1915. This vineyard is located on the western ridge of the famous Barossa Valley and has been a highly sought after parcel for many of the Barossa’s leading winemakers. Luckily for the Ashmead family, we were able to acquire this vineyard in 2010, forever ending the race to get this amazing fruit.

by Jess Ruciack What’s the best temperature to serve my wine? Does it matter if it’s a really hot day and I’ve just grabbed a bottle of Shiraz off my wine rack? Should I be drinking my Riesling icy cold? These, and many more variations, are questions we get asked a lot in Cellar Door,... Read More
